Marking Our 10th Anniversary, with Lynn Borton

“Ten years,” said my guest host Larry Robertson, “It’s one of those double digit numbers ending in a zero that calls us to take note, though in some ways it’s unnatural. Why ten? Why not number 14 or 24?

“Most often we arrive at such numerical markers with some implied expectations that we ought to plant a flag, declare some kind of victory, tally up lessons learned, blow a celebratory a horn, or declare what the future will hold.

“Let’s not.”

I breathed a sigh of relief.

I asked Larry, whom I first interviewed in 2021 and who has since become a good friend and generous thought partner, to help me navigate an episode marking the tenth anniversary of launching Choose to Be Curious.

We had some fun.

I say “our” anniversary because this milestone belongs to all of us. My generous, insightful guests. My loyal as well as new-to-me listeners. My many teachers, mentors and cherished cheerleaders. To me, too.

If I’ve learned anything in ten years, it is: this takes a village.

So thank you, fellow inhabitants, for joining me on this curiosity adventure!

The moments I love most are when you can smell the rubber burning, and you can hear the gears turning, and people are discovering their own insights in real time.

Check out my conversation with author, innovator and advisor Larry Robertson about rebel leadership. And stay tuned for an upcoming new conversation as well!

For a peek into the wayback, here’s my blog post about the moment I realized I could really do this.

Thanks to Sean Balick for our theme and other music.

I love this art installation, Echo, built at the site of and inspired by the Three Sisters Radio Towers, which broadcast the first trans-Atlantic radio signal in 1915, connecting Arlington with the Eiffel Tower.
