Shane McCarty has taken on the challenge of transforming school-based learning. In a pilot class at his alma mater Yorktown High School, he worked with students in AP Psychology as they conceived, designed, conducted and analyzed their own surveys about school climate, mental health and social media. In four short weeks they got a taste of the complex weave of our social fabric. There was always another question to be asked…
